Cheez-It Crackers

Cheez-Its are like crack in my house.
There are times I have to physically restrain my husband from going down the cracker aisle at the grocery.
Imagine my surprise to find a recipe online (click here for original).

Everyone who tried them has raved The flavor is spot on! The cayenne gives it a little kick at the end, so yummy!

What did I do different:
1. I used sea salt (meant for a grinder) and pressed it into the dough before baking
2. I did not line my baking sheet, I just used the bottom sheet of parchment from rolling it out

Ingredients:
1 Cup Flour
4 Tbsp cold butter, cut into small squares
1 (8oz) bag grated extra sharp cheddar cheese (orange is best)
½ Tsp cayenne pepper

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350
2. Combine all ingredients in a food processor and pulse until crumbly
3. Add cold water, 1 Tbsp at a time until dough comes together
4. Form into a ball, wrap in plastic, and chill in the freezer for at least 30 minutes
5. Place dough between two pieces of parchment paper and roll to ⅛ inch thick
6. Transfer to parchment lined baking sheet.
7. Using pizza cutter, cut dough into 1 inch squares
8. Sprinkle with kosher salt
9. Bake for 25-30 minutes
