BBQ Chicken Wrap with Blue Cheese Slaw

Happy New Year!

I hope 2018 brings to you new possibilities and adventures.

Is anyone making any resolutions? I didn't keep up with mine too well, but, that's OK.
I figure I did so well with the week in review one, it makes up for last years lack,

My aunt was on the receiving end of my grandmother's recipe box.
I am currently going through and taking pictures of these old handwritten (or typed!) recipes of hers. This year, my resolution will be to make some, hopefully all, of these recipes.
Reasonable...or so it seems today!

Ingredients:
Wrap
1 Cup BBQ sauce
4 (8 inch) Tortillas
1 Cup Cole Slaw

Cole Slaw:
2 Cups Shredded cabbage
1 Shredded carrot
¼ Cup mayonnaise
¼ Cup Sour cream
2 Tbsp Grainy mustard
1 Lemon (juice)
Salt and Pepper to taste
¼ Cup Blue cheese

Directions:
1. Assemble slaw and refrigerate for an hour
2. Mix chicken and BBQ sauce
3. Top wraps with chicken
4. Add cole slaw

Happy New Year 2017

What a year it has been.
As with every year, it's a roller coaster with all the loop-de-loops.

Last year I resolved to try to cook more than I relied on take out or ready made foods. Many of you followed along with my "Week in Review" series and I appreciate it!

This year, I think my food resolution will be to revisit some of the old recipes.
Hubby and the girl very much enjoy trying all the new recipes, but they ask for old faves every now and again.

That being said, I am going to flip all the way back to the beginning of this blog and make some of the most requested by friends and family.
I think a weekly challenge should be manageable...with the exception (of course) if a random vacation manages to get in the way.
(I could be very OK with this)

Let's call it "Retro Reviews"
Let's see if we loved it then and love it now!

Do you make yearly resolutions?

Happy New Year 2016

My husband always has loved New Years. He says it's everyone's chance at a fresh start. I guess he is right in that aspect.
This is why everyone makes resolutions I guess.

Resolutions are an odd creature.
People tend to make grand claims as to how they are going to change with the incoming year.
More often than not though, these claims are tossed to the side before January is even close to over.

Yes, I know some people are AWESOME and are able to keep them.
Me...not so much.
I forget. Or get busy. Or insert any excuse here.

Then I started making generic resolutions. "be a better me than I was last year".
In theory it's a nice gesture, but there are no rules to follow or accountability if I don't follow through.

This year I am going to make a resolution and hope that I made one I can not only keep for an extended period, but build on in the long run.

This year I will do more homemade and rely less on ready made.

Sound silly to anyone?
I cook and bake a lot...but not 365 days a year.
Not that I am aiming to do such.
In the time it takes to cook a frozen pizza on a busy night, you could make one from scratch with a little help from ready made dough.
That is how I am looking to better myself.

If I can make more than I purchase...I can feel that my resolution was, well, resolved.

What, if any, resolutions did you make?
