I make these sometimes just to smell them cooking. It brings me right back to happy childhood memories.
For a fun little twist, you can make these and push a Hershey kiss into the hot dough for a chocolate touch.
Peanut Butter Cookies
Ingredients:
½ Cup shortening
1 ¼ Cup light brown sugar
¾ Cup peanut butter
1 Egg
3 Tbsp milk
1 Teaspoon vanilla
1 ¾ All purpose flour
¾ Teaspoon baking soda
¾ Teaspoon salt
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350
- Cream shortening, brown sugar, and peanut butter until smooth
- Stir in egg, milk, and vanilla
- Combine flour, baking soda, and salt
- Stir into the peanut butter mixture until blended
- Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets
- Press a fork into the top to make little ridges
- Bake for 8-10 minutes
