Jimmy Dean Sausage Balls

I spent a lot of years living in NC. These were a staple at EVERY get together!
Now that I am thinking about them, they have never made it one of our parties here in MA...I know what I am bringing to the next party!

This is a Jimmy Dean recipe, or Bisquick, however you want to look at it

Buffalo Chicken in the crock pot

I found this recipe on www.youngmarriedchic.com

Always looking for quick and easy weeknight dinners. Anyone who knows us knows there is far too much time spent on the go...crock pot meals are my saving grace!

As a non subscriber to the SPICY theory, I sat this meal out.
According to darling daughter and hubby dearest this is simply yummy! I had shared this recipe with a friend of mine and she said her and her man loved it and she needed the recipe again in order to share it with her friends (not so subtle reminder to share this blog with YOUR friends).

Buffalo Chicken in the Crock Pot

6-8 Raw chicken breasts
½ cup Wing Sauce
¼ cup yellow mustard
¼ cup apple cider vinegar

  1. Spray a crock pot with cooking spray.
  2. Place the chicken in the crock pot and top with wing sauce, yellow mustard, and vinegar.
  3. Place lid on crock pot and cook for 5 hours
  4. With about 30 minutes on the timer, take the lid off and shred the chicken, stirring it together with the sauce that is now in the pot.
  5. Replace top and let the chicken continue cooking through the cycle.
  6. Serve on a bun with a shake of wing sauce, lettuce, tomato, and blue cheese

Monkey Bread

I love monkey bread!
It's the amazing smell while it's cooking, it's the ability to eat something so sticky and yummy with your fingers, it's all just amazing!

We sometimes get wild and crazy and make CHOCOLATE monkey bread! Follow the same recipe but fold the biscuits around a few chocolate chips.

For a more savory option, leave off the sugar and cinnamon and roll them in garlic butter.

Ingredients:
4 cans refrigerated biscuits
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 1/2 sticks butter (3/4 cup)
1/2 cup white sugar
2 Tablespoons cinnamon
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and grease a bundt pan.
2. Mix white sugar and cinnamon in a medium sized plastic bag. Cut the biscuits into halves or quarters and place six to eight biscuit pieces in the sugar cinnamon mix. Shake well.
3. Arrange pieces in the bottom of the greased pan. Continue layering until all the biscuit pieces are coated and in the pan.
4. In a small saucepan, melt the butter with the brown sugar over medium heat. Boil for 1 minute. Pour over the layered biscuits.
5. Bake for 35 minutes. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a plate.

Jack Daniels Marinade

Hubby makes this every summer, but I could eat it year round!
It's awesome on steak and chicken.
I usually do up a whole bunch of meat, let it sit in this marinade for a day and then freeze little packages of yummy meat, ready to be cooked!

Needless to say, but I will because I like to give credit where it is due, he got this off the Jack Daniel's web site.

Jack's All-Purpose BBQ Glaze

½ cup Jack Daniel's® Tennessee Whiskey
½ cup soy sauce
½ cup ketchup
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon garlic powder

Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan. Simmer until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes. Makes about 2 cups.

Another guest blog from Lisa C!

Layered shrimp Dip

She says:
This recipe is one of my mom’s and is a favorite of ours that we serve for the holiday’s.

1 package cream cheese softened

1 green pepper diced

1 small white onion diced

1 can baby shrimp (drained)

1 bottle of cocktail sauce

Directions:

Spread softened cream cheese on a plate, layer diced green pepper, diced onion and baby shrimp. Pour cocktail sauce over the top and spread neatly so ingredients are covered.

Serve with crackers of your choice. I find stone-ground wheat or Carr’s table water crackers are the best.

The Thing (Broccoli & Ham Ring)

My signature recipe!! LOL well not actually.. not totally mine so to speak it actually is a Pampered Chef recipe that I have been making for several years now so it has become my signature as my family and friends just love it!!. I also put my own spin on it so it’s not exact to the Pampered Chef’s. Funny because it has been given the name The Thing because when I ask what I can bring to get togethers with friends I always get well your thing of course. Makes me happy that something that is so easy to make brings smiles to so many faces.

1lb Boiled Ham chopped

Caprese Salad Appetizer Skewer

Guest blogger!
Melissa Casalinuova sent me this recipe with her story. We all tried these at my house the other weekend during the Patriots game. These skewers cause good karma...Pats beat the Jets!

Melissa says:

OK...let's see.....we were at a Baby Christening Party at Glenn's cousin Michelle's house. Her youngest was being celebrated when a neighbor I believe came over with an appetizer for everyone. Now I of course thought, what a great idea....and how come I didn't think of it first LOL. Well anyways, it was a HUGE hit with everyone....and super easy to make!

Two containers of Cherry Tomato's or Grape tomato's

Two containers of small mozzarella balls or pearls

A bunch of Fresh Basil

Wooden skewers

Start with a cherry tomato....then if using the pearls use two and slide down to the tomato.

Next put a small piece of basil ( always rip basil with fingers so not to bruise it with a knife)

Then another Tomato....then two more mozzarella ( if using bigger mozzarella, only use one)

Season with Sea Salt, Fresh cracked pepper and good extra virgin olive oil......you don't need a lot

Enjoy!
